FAQ

Where do you source your fabric and thread?
The fabric and thread is sourced from a local business in Missoula, MT. Although the fabric itself isn't (unfortunately) made in Montana, Fox & Smocks supports fellow small businesses through our fabric and thread purchases. The thread is a high-quality German thread, and the fabrics are high-quality cottons,  linen, and organic muslin.
Where did you get your patterns?
The Smock, Smock Dress, and Woodland Skirt patterns are designed and made by me!
How strong is your clothing? Is it good for kids to be rough in?
Definitely! All seams are sewn with a strong, high-quality German thread, then serged for extra strength. The hems are then serged and double-hemmed so your kiddo can romp around to their heart's content.
What exactly is a Smock?
Good question. A Smock is a new piece of clothing--just like a shirt or pair of pants. It can be anything--a tank top, a blouse, a fashionable and comfortable layer--it's really the perfect addition to any wardrobe, and I find that it perfectly answers the what should I wear today? question. And I'm not being overdramatic or trying to sell my point! I have many smocks in my size and I truly wear them every single day. They're the best. You can read more about the Smock's history here
Why is your name "Fox & Smocks?"
Well, to be honest, it sounded cool. It just popped in my head when I was brainstorming brand names and it stuck. I knew I wanted to include "smock" in the title, since that's our trademark item, but as to the "fox" part? It just had a nice ring to it, and foxes are really cute (except when they eat your chickens).
Are you going to make a line for babies, teens, and/or adults?
Yes! I really really hope to in the future! So far we just have children's clothing in sizes 4-10, but sign up for our email list to receive the latest updates about new releases!
Is your current clothing for boys as well?
Definitely! Boys can wear whatever they want! I do only have pictures of the clothes on girls, but anyone can wear them. Fox & Smocks is for all!
How do I know the size is going to fit my kid?
Well, since it's my first time selling clothes made from my own patterns, there's sure to be some wonkiness here and there. You're highly encouraged to contact foxandsmocksmt@gmail.com to make sure your kid gets the right size of clothing. You are guaranteed to receive an email reply in 1-3 days, and I will provide you with what size I think is the best for your little buddy.
